Zayn Malik supports children's charity by putting first guitar up for auction

One Direction heartthrob Zayn Malik has shown his support for children's charity Kean's Children's Fund, which is based in Scotland, by giving the owner the first guitar he used in the boyband for them to auction off as a means of fundraising.

Charlie Kean, founder of the charity, explained that he was overwhelmed when he got a call from Malik offering him the instrument:

"The boys from One Direction really do support the charity but it's really Zayn and his mum Tricia that are always keen to lend a hand. I got a call from Zayn on (the) Sunday before the boys left for America and Tricia posted the guitar this week. I hope we'll get around £20,000. But the band have some really dedicated fans, so who knows?"

The 'Story Of My Life' heartthrobs, meanwhile, are currently on their Where We Are tour in South America
