One Direction's Niall Horan raises over £300,000 from charity football match

Irish heartthrob Niall Horan raised a staggering amount of money for Irish Autism Action, UK based Heart and Minds Challenge, and the Leicester Foxes Foundation after putting the inaugural Niall Horan Charity Football Challenge at The King Power Stadium on Sunday, May 26. 

The One Direction superstar managed to shift an impressive 15,500 tickets to the event and raised over £300,000 for the aforementioned charitable organisations. 

Following the football match, Horan issued a statement and revealed that he was so pleased with the total sum of money raised and the support the exciting event attracted from fans and the press alike:

"Although my team didn’t win, I still enjoyed every minute of this game. I would like to thank all the players who donated their time free of charge to support this event. I am looking forward to making this even bigger and better next year. I am delighted we have raised significant funds for Irish Autism Action which is based in my home town of Mullingar, UK based Heart and Minds Challenge and the Leicester Foxes Foundation."
