One Direction's Liam Payne tells fans to 'calm down' after marijuana video surfaces

Earlier today, a video clip showing One Direction members Zayn Malik and Liam Payne sparking up what appears to be a joint surfaced online and the footage quickly spread around the globe.

Following a backlash from fans, along with some more light-hearted and humorous responses, heartthrob Payne took to his official Twitter page and called for the group's followers to 'calm down' and asked them not to 'do anything stupid' amid the drama:

"Woah there's some pretty weird shit going on ATM everyone just calm down and don't do anything stupid cuz u can't take it back. I know some people are having a laugh and that's all well and good but some people will take this shit serious so I suggest we stop."

He then returned to the social networking site shortly after sharing the aforementioned update and added: "oday is such a weird day why don't we do a #wearahoodyfor1d or a #WearAsManyClothesAsYouCanAtOnceFor1D."

Zayn Malik, however, is yet to address the situation and last updated his own Twitter page on May 15.
