Louis Tomlinson on Doncaster Rovers takeover: 'I can't be a big kid anymore or play pranks'

One Direction star Louis Tomlinson has admitted that he will have to grow up a little after becoming co-owner of Doncaster Rovers.

The singer and former chairman John Ryan announced on Thursday (June 19) that they had struck a deal to buy the League One football club.

Speaking to The Sun, Rovers fan Tomlinson said that he will have to change his behaviour somewhat after branching out into business.

He said: "This is life-changing for me. I'm going to have to start acting dead serious. I can't be a big kid anymore or play pranks.

"I am absolutely going to be very involved in the club. I will be committing a lot of time to it. I've said that I want to be across absolutely everything. I'll definitely be going to board meetings, which is ridiculous, but I guess I am a businessman now."

The singer and Ryan launched their tenure by unveiling the Tomlinson Ryan Trust, which is aiming to raise a total of £2 million and will enable fans to buy into the club and receive rewards in return.

Tomlinson and Ryan are due to assist the club until their takeover formally goes through on July 18.
