One Direction's Niall Horan on new album: 'Jesus, this is an exciting record'

Irish heartthrob Niall Horan has revealed that One Direction's forthcoming new album is 'exciting' and teased followers by telling them he has been able to listen to a few songs from it.

Writing on Twitter earlier today (September 1), the 'Story Of My Life' superstar confessed that he's really happy about the way the record has been shaping up: "Just listening to tracks from the new album! Jesus this is exciting! Really can't wait for u to hear this album! By far my favourite yet."

Horan also recently told America's 'The Today Show' that the album will be 'edgier' than the band's previous releases: "Think it's going to be a little bit more edgy. But obviously we feel like we've got some really good songs and we are happy."

Simon Cowell has already given his opinion on the boys' upcoming new offering and said they have taken more risks this time around: "The album's fantastic. There's probably five or six tracks I've already heard that could be singles. There's some very different kinds of songs than what we've done before, they've taken a few more risks. Most importantly, the boys love writing, they love recording."
