One Direction waxworks receive over 700 love letters in a fortnight

One Direction waxwork models have received over 700 love letters from fans after going on display in Blackpool.

It only took the Madame Tussauds figures two weeks to receive that number of messages after being unveiled in the city earlier this month.

The company said that fans have been leaving notes in the models' clothes, with Harry Styles the most popular with 311 messages.

The Niall Horan model has received 193 notes.

Madame Tussauds Blackpool's Guest Experience Host Clarissa croft commented:

"It’s been surprisingly emotional handling all these love letters from fans. I absolutely love the band myself, so I know how much One Direction means to them. These guys are the ultimate teenage crush.

"We made the decision to collect the letters to show the fans that they’re support is appreciated and to let the band know how loved they are. We’re delighted that the boys are in Blackpool and Directioners have the opportunity to come and meet the boys’ figures face-to face."

The figures, which cost £150,000 each to make, have been touring the globe this year.
