A Bollywood producer believes One Direction's Zayn Malik could be a big success in the film industry.

The singer is enjoying huge fame with the boyband at the moment, but movie man Ashwin Varde told the Mirror that Bollywood could act as a new avenue for Malik.

He said: "One Direction has a huge following among the youth, especially in major cities. Zayn Malik is very well-known in that circle and holds tremendous promise if given the right break in a Bollywood film.

"Bollywood has always welcomed actors from the UK, like Katrina Kaif and Amy Jackson. Zayn appeals to an even younger audience, which is the driving force of Bollywood movies today."

One Direction meanwhile have just released their new song 'Steal My Girl' in the UK.

At the time of writing, it is No.2 on the UK iTunes singles chart.
