Liam Payne wants to return to his old school and give inspiring assembly

One Direction hitmaker Liam Payne has revealed that he would love to talk to pupils at his old school about reaching for the stars.

Speaking to Free Radio, the heartthrob admitted that he thinks he could tell current students things that might inspire them or give them a bit of extra motivation, but the idea of standing up in front of his old school makes him a little anxious:

"I always go back to my old house and where I went to school, I sometimes go back there. They asked me to do an assembly actually, but that makes me nervous. I'd love to do an assembly for the school - I'd love to tell the kids something. I do find that in some places sometimes people don't believe you can do something like this or a job you dream about doing."

"You're kind of led to believe you have to do a certain job or whatever because it seems to difficult or whatever to get there. I never really imagined that I could have made it here, but thanks to my parents who kind of just pushed me through."

Payne went onto add that he has returned to his old school since graduating, but it was much more of a casual visit: "I went back and played tennis there with the kids once, which was good fun. I turned up in my old PE kit and went on and played tennis with them... it was good!"
