Andy Murray was seemingly on hand to give One Direction star Liam Payne some tips about playing tennis this week.

The pair met at London's O2 Arena on Tuesday (November 11) after Murray beat Milos Raonic in the ATP World Finals match.

The Scotsman took to Twitter after their meeting to give some words of encouragement to Payne.

He said: "Great to meet you @Real_Liam_Payne thanks for your support tonight and make sure you keep working on that serve!"

Payne added: "Congrats @andy_murray pleasure to meet you."

The singer was enjoying some downtime before One Direction release their new album 'Four' on November 17.
