It has been estimated that it would take around a combined 75 years for One Direction to remove all of their tattoos.

The group have developed a penchant for body art over the last couple of years, with Harry Styles and Zayn Malik two of the most passionate about ink.

WhatClinic have revealed the results of a study into how long it would take the whole band to remove their tattoos - and at what cost.

They surmise that it would take a combined 75 years to remove all of the body art, partly because they recommended a six-week wait between removals.

Malik's estimated bill would come to £31,000 ($49,000) and his removals would take 38 years.

Harry Styles' would be £19,000 ($31,000), with treatment done over 17 years.

Louis Tomlinson would need 100 removal sessions, with Liam Payne needing 66.

The total cost of One Direction removing their tattoos is estimated to be £68,000 ($108,000).

Irishman Niall Horan is the only member of the group who doesn't have any tattoos.
