One Direction star Louis Tomlinson has suggested that The Voice is nothing compared to the X Factor.

The singer found fame on the latter in 2010 when One Direction finished third on the show.

BBC's rival series The Voice is due to relaunch on Saturday (January 10) and new coach Rita Ora recently said that her show is better.

Speaking on Twitter today (January 6), Tomlinson suggested that the X Factor trumps all in the TV battle.

He said: "Is bad mouthing The X Factor the only way The Voice knows how to promo their show ? #everyyear.

"It's like Accrington Stanley trying to compete with Real Madrid..."
