Naughty Boy on 1D tension: 'Louis should have come to me privately'

Some tension recently arose between the remaining members of One Direction and producer Naughty Boy after he shared a new demo track with Zayn Malik's vocals on it, and he has now revealed that Louis Tomlinson's 'provoking' tweets should have been sent in confidence.

After Naughty Boy uploaded the demo to the Internet and shared a short video of text saying how 'Zaughty' will rise, Tomlinson tweeted about how distasteful to One Direction's fans it was: "Wow @NaughtyBoyMusic you're so inconsiderate pal, seriously how f*cking old are you? Grow up! #masterofallwisdom."

Speaking to Heat magazine, the 'La La La' hitmaker confessed that the beef between himself and member Louis Tomlinson could definitely have been handled differently as the 1D heartthrob should have messaged him privately instead of airing the issue in public:

"There seems to be some needless provoking going on. [Louis] was deliberately adding to the provoking. I don't think that's fair. Especially on Zayn, that's not fair. Right now, there needs to be calm. He could have said that to me privately. Doing it openly is another act of provocation that's not needed."

As previously reported, Naughty Boy also told Heat that he was just 'being a friend' to Malik and doesn't think people realise how stressed the superstar really is:

"I've been his friend. He needs one. Just because we were seen at my studio – you [don't] necessarily just make music. People seem to forget that he's under so much stress. Which is why he left the tour. There's a lot going on. People get caught up – what he has done is to be normal. Sometimes being normal is to try and sort things out with your fiancée or hang around with a friend. That is normal."
