1D on new album's progress: 'It's coming together really well'

UK based boyband One Direction are currently working on their first studio album without ex-member Zayn Malik and have revealed that they're making solid progress.

Heartthrob Liam Payne called into Capital FM radio earlier this week and admitted that things are going well for them so far: "It's coming together really well."

As previously reported, he confessed to the radio station that he wants the record to be long-lasting in its appeal, much like the music of Ed Sheeran: "The songs have been coming out a bit more chilled. We want this to be quite a long-lasting album that you can listen to anytime, like Ed [Sheeran]’s album. The new album is a bit Oasis-y."

Music mogul Simon Cowell, meanwhile, recently admitted that he has heard a little bit of what the lads are working on and he has every faith that it'll be their best offering yet: "I have a feeling they are going to deliver this year the best record they've ever made. I've heard some of the early stuff. So I'm feeling good."
