One Direction say they getting ever closer to completing their fifth album.

They boyband have been writing and recording the follow-up to 2014's 'FOUR' this year.

Speaking to Capital FM at the weekend, Liam Payne confirmed that the end is on the horizon.

He said: "We've literally just started, and almost finished another one [album], so, there is more on the way.

"We're just finalising the details."

One Direction performed for the radio station at their Summertime Ball event at London's Wembley Stadium on Saturday (June 6).

They opened the event before playing in Cardiff on the same day.
