Singer Liam Payne, of One Direction fame, has marked the 5-year point in his career with the band by sharing a heartfelt tweet about their journey so far. 

The heartthrob took to his official Twitter page this evening (July 23) and explained that the last 5 years have been amazing, and he is thankful to have gone through such a wild experience with the other members of the boyband:

"Wowwwww 5 years 5 boys what an amazing journey. I couldn't thank you all ever enough and thank you Louis, Niall, Harry and Zayn for everything. Thanks for all the memories boys, I love you all."

Member Louis Tomlinson also shared a similar post earlier today, writing on Twitter: "Every single day we are thankful for the platform that you incredible people gave us. What an amazing 5 years it's been!! You have been by far the most incredible fanbase and nothing you do goes unnoticed. We are so lucky to have you guys! Thanks so much."
