One Direction singer Liam Payne has donated over £50,000 to charity - just to get his face painted.

The singer attended the Believe In Magic Cinderella Ball on Monday (August 10), which was hosted by bandmate Louis Tomlinson.

The event raised money for the children's charity and it saw Payne dig deep.

The Daily Mail report that he shelled out over £50,000 ($78,000) to get his face painted as a tiger.

Tomlinson meanwhile later said on Twitter: "Wow, what an incredible night! I hope Meg, Jean and my beautiful Mum feel very proud for creating such a fantastic night for everyone!!!

"Thank you so much for everyone who helped and attended tonight."
