One Direction break impressive VEVO record with 'Drag Me Down'

Boyband One Direction recently unveiled their music video for new single 'Drag Me Down' and while it didn't manage to break VEVO's most watched clip in a 24-hour period, it has set a new record for likes.

To beat the most watched record, 'Drag Me Down' needed to pass 20.1 million hits and it was just shy of this as it attracted an impressive 19,620,083 views. Instead, the heartthrobs broke the record for the most likes as their video racked up over one million in the first 24 hours of it's release.

One Direction, meanwhile, are set to go on a break in 2016 and music mogul Simon Cowell recently admitted to Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper that he has big plans for their last performance together before the split: "I would like their last performance before their break to be the X Factor final, 100 per cent. I think they will come on the final of X Factor this year."
