One Direction have been confirmed to perform at this year's American Music Awards.

The boyband will take to the stage at Los Angeles' Microsoft Theater on November 21.

They will perform their latest single 'Perfect', which is the second song to be lifted from their upcoming album 'Made in the A.M.'.

One Direction are nominated in two categories at this year's awards - Artist of the Year and Favourite Duo or Group – Pop Rock.

Last year they won Artist of the Year, Favourite Album – Pop/Rock and Favourite Band, Duo or Group – Pop/Rock.

They join 5 Seconds of Summer, Selena Gomez and Carrie Underwood on the 2015 bill.

Also performing is Jennifer Lopez, who is hosting the event.

One Direction meanwhile will release 'Made in the A.M.' on November 13.
