1D on Zayn's departure: 'He just fell out of love with the music'

One Direction's Zayn Malik quit the group earlier this year in the spring and member Louis Tomlinson has opened up about how it changed the dynamic of the boyband.

Speaking to Australia's Kyle and Jackie O radio, the heartthrob explained that while it was an adjustment for them all, it ended up bringing them together and now they've made an album they were all completely invested in:

"I think it's like anything, it's a difficult time at first in any job when you lose part of your crew but in reality it ended up being a positive for us because we knew the four of us really wanted to make it work and I think we're showing that."

Tomlinson went onto add that what it all came down to was the fact that Malik's passion had fizzled out: "We carried on making the record and business as usual. He had his own reasons; the bottom line is he did fall out of love with the music, which is absolutely fine."
