1D's Niall Horan to use hiatus to reflect on One Direction's success

One Direction star Niall Horan says he will take time to reflect on the last five years when the band go on hiatus in 2016.

The group are set to go into hibernation next year to take a breather and focus on solo efforts.

The band formed on the X Factor in 2010 and today (November 13) they unleashed their fifth record in five years.

Speaking to Digital Spy, Horan said that he will use the upcoming break to indulge in some down-time.

The Irishman will also take stock of the last five years - five years that have seen the quartet break records, sell millions and tour the globe.

Horan said: "For the first six months I'm planning on not doing much at all. Just sitting around, doing a bit of travelling and playing a bit of golf.

"That's pretty much what my year is going to consist of. I'm sure I'll do a couple of bits in between to keep my head ticking over, but I can't see myself doing much.

"It'll be a good time for us to sit back and reflect on what we've achieved. As we've gone along we've never really had the chance to do that."

Bandmate Louis Tomlinson meanwhile recently said he will work on signing acts to his record label during the break.
