One Direction were 'in love' with new songs before recording

One Direction star Liam Payne says the band were enamoured with their latest album before even recording it.

The group unleashed their fifth effort 'Made in the A.M.' on November 13.

Speaking on the Xtra Factor on Sunday (November 15), Payne said that the band had a soft spot for the tracks from day one.

He said: "I feel like we were in love with the songs before we even kicked off recording. I've been listening to them non-stop."

Bandmate Louis Tomlinson meanwhile said One Direction were afforded more time to record than usual.

He added: "It was more enjoyable in a sense because we had a bit more time.

"We had two or three months at the start of the year where we planned that was the writing time and we wouldn't normally have that much time."

One Direction appeared on the Xtra Factor after performing 'Perfect' on the main X Factor show.

The boyband, however, will not promote the record with a tour.

Instead, the quartet will take a prolonged break in 2016 to recharge their batteries and focus on solo projects.
