One Direction's Niall Horan: 'Don't worry, we'll be back'

One Direction star Niall Horan insists the band has a future despite going on a prolonged break.

The boyband performed for the last time for seemingly at least a year on Sunday (December 13) on the X Factor.

The quartet will now recharge their batteries and explore solo endeavours - but some naysayers believe One Direction will never return.

However, Horan took to Twitter to dismiss those suggestions, reiterating that One Direction will come back.

He said: "5 of the best years of our lives so far.. Thank you all so much for your incredible support. I hope you guys realise what you've done for us.

"Can't thank you enough to be honest...Don't worry , we'll be back...Looking forward to chilling for a while now."

One Direction are taking a break following the release of their fifth album 'Made in the A.M.' in November.

The group were pieced together on the X Factor in 2010 and have lived in a constant tour/album cycle ever since.
