One Direction's 'Made in the A.M.' goes platinum in the UK

One Direction's latest album has achieved platinum status in the UK.

The group released their fifth record 'Made in the A.M.' late last year.

The British Phonographic Industry has now confirmed that the album has gone platinum in the UK.

This means that it has sold 300,000 units in the country.

All of One Direction's four other albums are multi-platinum in the UK.

Their 2011 debut 'Up All Night' and 2012's 'Take Me Home' are 3x platinum.

The band, however, won't be touring 'Made in the A.M.'.

Instead, they are now on a lengthy hiatus to take a break after releasing five albums in five years.
