One Direction beat Little Mix and Adele to win best live act award

One Direction have won the best live act award at the O2 Silver Clef Awards, despite being on a prolonged break.

The group will be honoured with the prize at the awards ceremony today (July 1) in London.

They beat a host of big names to the title, including Adele, Little Mix, Ed Sheeran and Muse.

Also nominated for the fan-voted award were The 1975, Florence And The Machine, Bring Me The Horizon, Catfish And The Bottlemen and Rudimental.

One Direction received over half of the votes.

They commented: "Thank you to all our fans for voting.

“Our live show is so important and it is amazing for this to be recognised by winning the Ticketmaster best live act award for the second time."

One Direction have not performed publicly since 2015.
