Heartthrob Niall Horan, of One Direction fame, has topped Spotify's Global Viral 50 Chart with his debut solo single, "This Town". 

This particular chart rounds up the most popular songs being played around the world on the music streaming service and Horan's first-ever solo offering is sitting right at the top. He has beaten the likes of Solange with "Cranes In The Sky" (No.6), The Weeknd and Daft Punk with "Starboy" (No.8) and James Arthur's "Say You Won't Let Go" (No.17). 

The Irish sensation missed out on the UK Official Singles Chart No.1 this evening as James Arthur took the top spot, but he did land the highest new entry at No.9.
