One Direction star 'delighted' to land solo slot at American Music Awards

Niall Horan says he is "delighted" to be performing his debut solo single 'This Town' at this year's American Music Awards, which is being held on Sunday (November 20).

The new was confirmed on Monday (November 14) as Horan continues his solo exploits following One Direction's decision to go on a break at the end of 2015.

The Irishman took to Twitter to post a promotional image for the performance and added: "Absolutely delighted to be performing 'This town' @AMAs. It's an award show ive got incredible memories from and I can't wait, gona be a huge night! (sic)."

Horan already has previous history of performing 'This Town' at an awards ceremony. In October he played the tune at BBC Radio 1's Teen Awards at London's Wembley Arena.
