Niall Horan would be a 'lost soul' without his fans

Niall Horan says he would have been a "lost soul" at the American Music Awards if some of his fans were not in attendance.

The singer performed his debut single 'This Town' at the event in Los Angeles on Sunday (November 20) as he continued his post-One Direction solo career.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight on the red carpet, Horan said he has a lot of good memories from the awards ceremony from his One Direction days, with the Irishman man keen to make more.

He said: "This is a show that [One Direction] had success at back in previous years, and had some good performances and had some great nights at, and I’m looking forward to making a few more memories…

"If you didn’t have the fans in there, I would be a lost soul. It’s great though. [One Direction] got to perform in front of such great crowds, and this one will be no different, I imagine."
