One Direction's Harry Styles comments on Beatles comparison

Harry Styles has suggested that there are similarities between One Direction and the Beatles.

The Beatles of course managed great success in the US, regularly sending fans into delirium on their trips to America.

One Direction are predicted to land at No.1 on the Billboard chart with their debut album 'Up All Night', meaning that they would be the first British act to hit No.1 in the US with their debut album - something the Beatles didn't manage to do.

The Mirror reports that One Direction's Harry Styles says the comparisons between his band and the Fab Four are "ridiculous" - but he said there are some similarities between the two group's visits to America. He is quoted as saying:

"That seems ridiculous to us, because they were such icons. But we watched a film of their first US trip and there were similarities. We're as close as them despite not being together long."

As previously reported, One Direction recently gave Billboard a behind the scenes look into a day in the life of the Brit popstars, taking them backstage at a shopping centre signing session.
