UK superstars One Direction are set to headline New York City's presitigious venue Madison Square Garden later this year.

Although the concert won't take place until December 3, tickets for the exciting event are due to go on sale at 5pm EST on April 6 and member Niall Horan explained to Billboard.com:

"We are so happy to be playing Madison Square Garden. To be headlining our own show in a venue that has played host to countless legendary acts that we have grown up listening to and adore is obviously a dream come true for us all."

The lads also took to their official Twitter account late last night (April 3) and added: "Cant believe we will be performing at MSG later this year! Tickets on sale at 5pm EST on 6th April."

"Thanks to ALL the fans who always support us. Thanks to our UK & Irish fans and fans all over the world. We owe all our success to you!!!"

One Direction's cameo on Nickelodeon's popular show iCarly will debut this weekend on the same night they appear as musical guests on Saturday Night Live (April 7).
