Following the onslaught of criticism that plagued Harry Styles' relationship with the considerably older television presenter Caroline Flack, the One Direction boys have decided to set themselves an age limit for dating.

The Daily Mirror has quoted 20-year-old member Louis Tomlinson as saying that it's important to be able to relate to a partner and age is a big factor in that so he would be reluctant to pursue anyone older than 24:

"We're young lads, and you can date older women when you're older. But when you're older, you can't really get away with dating 18 or 19 year olds."

"We have been asked that before, I think it was around the time of Harry's little fling. In particular, how old's too old? For me, probably 23 or 24."
