One Direction star Harry Styles has congratulated Ed Sheeran on winning an Ivor Novello award.

The flame haired singer songwriter picked up an award yesterday (May 17) at the Ivor Novello Awards ceremony in London.

He won the Best Song Musically & Lyrically category with his track 'The A Team', and today (May 18) Styles took to Twitter to praise his friend. He said:

"@edsheeran congratulations on the Ivor you legend!!"

Styles meanwhile recently opened up on his most embarrassing moment to date - getting a tampon thrown at his face.
