One Direction heartthrob Harry Styles has opened up about how he prefers being in a relationship and revealed the lengths he would go to for a kiss.

Speaking to HollywoodLife, the curly-haired singer explained that although he is currently single, nothing beats having a girlfriend because he enjoys the closeness:

"I like having a girlfriend, someone I can spoil, or call up in the middle of the night and just talk to. I like getting close to someone like that."

Styles, who has become known for his lady-loving ways, also added that he would probably fight for a girl he was attracted to and wouldn't mind suffering a few cuts and bruises if he got a smooch at the end of it:

"I don't mind getting a black eye or broken arm for a girl as long as she's there to kiss it after! I'm not particular about the girls I like as long as she has a good sense of humour and doesn't take life too seriously."

The rest of the 'What Makes You Beautiful' group admitted they have been writing songs for their girlfriends back at home and told HollywoodLife: "We're writing songs about being away from home, being away from girlfriends, that kind of thing."
