One Direction and The Wanted lead Teen Choice Awards nominations

UK heartthrobs The Wanted and One Direction have made a significant impact on this year's Teen Choice Awards list of nominees, scoring nods in several categories each.

The 'One Thing' hitmakers are up for Choice Summer Music Star: Group, Choice Love Song for 'What Makes You Beautiful', and have also been recognised in the Choice Music: Breakout Group category. 

Meanwhile, The Wanted lads will fight for prizes in the Choice Summer Song for 'Glad You Came', Choice Summer Music Star: Group and Choice Music: Breakout Group categories against the likes of Maroon 5, Gym Class Heroes and Justin Bieber.  

Other acts to be nominated include Demi Lovato, who's up for Choice Summer Song with 'Give Your Heart A Break', Katy Perry, who will compete for Choice Break-Up Song with 'Wide Awake', and Rihanna for Choice Summer Music Star: Female.

The awards show will air on Sunday, July 22 and fans can vote once per day per category for their favourite acts up until July 21.
