One Direction's Liam Payne asks fans to remain calm

Liam Payne has taken to Twitter to urge fans to back off from the band for their own safety.

The singer tweeted earlier today (June 22) that the group were in the studio to work on their second album.

However, he called on fans who had congregated outside to remain calm, fearing for their own safety should they rush towards them. He said:

"Sorry guys just popping in the studi to record the new album :D Hey everyone outside you guys sound amazing wish we could come and see you xxx"

He continued: "So nice to see you all don't run forward thank you for stayin out for us hopefully we can come out tomorrow. Hey hope nobody got hurt we would love to come say hi but because it gets crazy like that we don't want you to get hurt. If you guys promise to stay calm and stay back and let us come to you maybe tomorrow we can say hello would be nice :)"
