One Direction sent a card and flowers to the family of 13-year-old murder victim Casey Kearney, it has been revealed.

Kearney was stabbed and killed on February 14 this year in a random attack in Doncaster.

Hannah Bonser, 26, was convicted with the murder of Kearney on Wednesday (July 11) and the victim's mother Kerry Day told The Sun that One Direction had sent the family a message of support in the aftermath of the tragic incident.

She said that the band - who have a local lad in Louis Tomlinson - sent flowers and a card, which said:

"Thinking of all of Casey's family at this sad time. With Love, Louis (Doncaster boy) and all of One Direction, Harry, Liam, Niall and Zayn."

Speaking about One Direction's thoughtful act of sympathy, Day said:

"It was amazing they took the trouble to send a card. It was a real kindness."
