One Direction have revealed that they enjoy starting food fights with unsuspecting passers-by.

The ‘One Thing’ boyband, three of whom were recently at the receiving end of a prank in a Nickelodeon sketch, told The Hits Radio that they like nothing better than pelting people with popcorn chicken.

Louis confessed: “You know that show Balls of Steel where he goes into McDonald’s or wherever, buys loads of burgers, then throws them at people?

“We did that with popcorn chicken. I scored the most. Nobody was hurt.”

Zayn then added: “Louis is ruthless. I could just see popcorn chicken flying outside the car.”

Meanwhile Zayn’s girlfriend, Little Mix’s Perrie Edwards, has taken to Twitter to express her excitement at seeing the group perform at tonight’s Olympic closing ceremony.

She said: “I’m too excited for the Olympics closing ceremony!  I’m getting loads of butterfly’s! Eeeek  @katheeerine Perrie <3”
