One Direction add extra date to 2013 UK arena tour

Now that the One Direction heartthrobs have finished their tour of the USA, they are set to return with a new live show next year that they'll take around the UK and have added another date to the extensive schedule.

Due to phenomenal demand, the 'More Than This' lads will now perform in Nottingham on April 16 and tickets for the newly confirmed extra concert are due to go on sale this coming Friday (August 17). A tweet from their official Twitter page explained:

"An extra 2013 UK tour date has been added due to exceptional demand: Nottingham on 16th April! Tickets on sale this Friday 17th Aug 1DHQ x"

Their 2013 tour will kick off on Friday, February 22 with a date at London's O2 Arena and won't finish until April 19 where the run of shows will come to an end in Manchester.

One Direction performed at the 2012 Olympic Closing Ceremony in England's capital last night (August 12) and member Harry Styles took to his official Twitter page this afternoon to thank the group's fans for such an incredible opportunity:

"Last night was the biggest performance of our careers, thank you for making it happen."
