One Direction's Zayn Malik has admitted that the band take it personally when critics or fans pick on their youngest member, Harry Styles.

In an interview with The Sun newspaper, the 'One Thing' heartthrob explained that when people send abuse to Styles it upsets him because at just 18-years-old, he shouldn't have to deal with constant unwarranted criticism:

"He is the baby of the group, but people seem to forget that because of the way that he is and that he is so charming. So it is a little bit upsetting sometimes if you see him with the weight of the world on his shoulders. It does annoy us a bit. He's a young kid and people are just giving him grief for no reason."

Malik also admitted that when the group first got together they bonded by farting: "When I first got with the boys Niall would fart all the time and I wasn't used to that. Before I knew it I was just farting away with them, just letting myself go."
