One Direction's Harry Styles says band are like the Beatles

One Direction star Harry Styles has offered his thoughts on the comparisons between his band and the Beatles.

Similarities were drawn between the two acts after One Direction arrived in the US for the first time, with some people associating their reception to the fever that surrounded the Beatles in the country back in the 1960s.

Speaking to the Daily Star, Styles said that he also saw the comparisons when he watched footage of the Fab Four hitting America. He said:

"We watched that film of The Beatles when they first touched down in America and we saw a real likeness with our personalities."

Bandmate Niall Horan added: "They loved having a laugh like us."

One Direction saw their album 'Up All Night' hit No.1 in America on its first week of release, which made the X Factor contestants the first British group to instantly top the US charts with their debut album.
