One Direction heartthrob Zayn Malik has opened up about his romance with Little Mix beauty Perrie Edwards and explained that it's tough to make such a commitment because their schedules are both so demanding.

Speaking to Heat magazine, the 'Live While We're Young' singer revealed that while it isn't a drag or even hard to maintain a relationship, it's definitely "difficult" and they both have to make time for each other in order to keep the spark alight:

"I wouldn’t say it’s hard but obviously it has its difficulties. You are away a lot of the time but I guess it’s just when you get back to them it means so much more, because when you have that time you want to make the most of it."

During a recent interview with Fabulous, Malik added that it works well because they're both in the same industry so understand what it means to be a pop star: "She's just cool man. We both understand the job we're in.”
