One Direction's Louis Tomlinson praised for charity work

One Direction star Louis Tomlinson has been complimented on his commitment to an English children's hospice.

The 'One Thing' singer hosted a charity football game on Monday (October 22) to raise funds for the Bluebell Wood home, with his Three Horseshoes team eventually beating Doncaster Rovers 2-1.

Tomlinson, however, went one further and made a secret visit to the hospice on the day of the event - something which they said "brought sunshine" to the children.

Sarah Champion, chief executive of Bluebell Wood, said: "What a fabulous morning we had. Our children and their parents were thrilled that he came and visited us and certainly brought a lot of sunshine with him. Having Louis as our patron and spreading the word about our work is wonderful, it really helps to raise our profile and help us raise much needed funds for the hospice."

The global icon meanwhile said at the time: "I'm so honoured to be a patron of this wonderful charity and my visit today was incredibly moving. I met some truly inspirational people - the work Bluebell Wood do is phenomenal."
