One Direction sent their American fans wild last night (November 8) as they performed live on X Factor USA.

The British group appeared on the show to promote their new single 'Little Things', as well as previous release 'Live While We're Young'.

Female screams were constantly audible in the crowd, highlighted when they toned things down for their new acoustic single and sat down on guitar amplifiers.

They performed in front of the admiring judges, with Niall Horan's often rumoured love interest Demi Lovato looking on alongside One Direction's X Factor UK mentor Simon Cowell.

Singer Jason Brock, meanwhile, was eliminated from the X Factor USA competition after the results show went to deadlock.
