One Direction's Harry Styles: 'I hope I win the NME's Villain award'

Floppy-haired heartthrob Harry Styles has admitted that while he's up for a strange prize at the 2013 NME Awards he hopes he wins the category because it "should be fun".

The 'Little Things' singer has been nominated for Villain of the Year alongside the likes of British Prime Minister David Cameron, 'Gangnam Style' performer Psy, Skrillex and rapper Azealia Banks.

Speaking to The Mirror about the odd nomination, Styles explained that he hasn't done anything to make him seem like a villian so winning would be entertaining and somewhat ridiculous:

"I hope I win. You've got to take the rough with the smooth but I don't really feel like I've done anything that bad. Should be fun!"

The NME Awards ceremony is due to take place on February 27 at London's Troxy.

Meanwhile, the hitmaker will celebrate his 19th birthday tomorrow (February 1) and One Direction have asked fans to design and send in personalised cards for the occasion, with the best one being given a "surprise".
