One Direction hoping for BRITs win

One Direction star Niall Horan has revealed he hopes that the band will pick up a 2013 BRIT award.

The pop group are nominated in the British Group category at this year's event, which is taking place tonight (February 20) in London.

Speaking to Capital FM, Horan said that he hopes his group can beat Alt-J, Mumford & Sons, Muse and The XX to win the gong. He said:

"We can't wait. It was absolutely incredible last year so it's great to be nominated again this year, so fingers crossed and hopefully we'll win."

The Irishman added: "It's going to be great – there's some amazing bands and artists there nominated tonight so it should be a good turnout."

One Direction won the British Single award at last year's BRITs for their hit track 'What Makes You Beautiful'.
