One Direction have revealed their joy as they head out on their latest UK tour.

The lads are beginning their Take Me Home tour today (February 23) at London's O2 Arena, with the quintet playing a matinee and an evening show.

The long jaunt will conclude in Manchester on April 20 as they hit a number of cities around the country.

Taking to Twitter with aplomb, Niall Horan gushed with excitement ahead of the tour opener, saying:

"LONDON ARE YOU READYYYYYYYYYY? im literally so excited..this show is for you, the best fans in the world..love you so much you sexy humans."

Today (February 23) he added: "Aggghhhhh! Lets do this! Cant believe its 1st show day! Cant wait. Right! O2 time! We're headin! Yop yop yop!"

Liam Payne meanwhile was a bit more subtle in his exuberance, tweeting: "Tour dayyyyy! :)."
