One Direction's Louis Tomlinson has revealed his "scariest" fan encounter.

The heartthrob has opened up about a surreal moment when he mistook an admirer for an aggressive bully.

Speaking to Top of the Pops magazine he explained: "I was out partying in my home town, and there was a big, muscly, scary fan that came up to me."

He added: "I thought he was going to beat me up and take my lunch money. But actually he was saying that he liked the band and he was really cool!"

Tomlinson is not short of attention from fans, although he is well known for his relationship with Eleanor Calder.

The star recently revealed his perfect date.

He said: "It's nice sometimes to just do the normal things, like go out for a meal or go to the cinema. If I were to do something a bit more crazy and spontaneous, I think going to a theme park for a date would be fun. I've never done that, so it would be good."
