One Direction reassure fans after big announcement: 'We'll be confirming more countries soon'

Earlier today (May 16), boyband One Direction made their big announcement as promised and confirmed that 2014 will see them embark upon a stadium tour called 'Where We Are'.

The dates that have been revealed so far include South America, the UK and Ireland, and member Niall Horan took to his official Twitter page this afternoon to reassure fans that these won't be the only countries they visit on the impressive jaunt:

"Everyone as happy as we are? I'm buzzin'! #wherewearetour2014. For us this is absolutely crazy! We are soo excited! Every night is just gonna be amazing! Your support is incredible you have done this. Keep you're eyes peeled! Please don't be disappointed if your country wasn't announced! We will be announcing more over the year!"

Heartthrob Harry Styles also shared his excitement at the news and added that more shows will be planned around the globe over the coming months: "We cannot believe we're announcing a tour in 2014. Latin America, UK, Ireland.. Rest of the world, keep your ears open."

Tickets for the concerts will go on sale from May 25 at 10am UK time and the gigs confirmed so far are as follows:

  • May 6, 2014 Montevideo, Uruguay Estadio Centenarioon
  • May 8, 2014 Rio De Janeiro, Brazil Apoteoseon
  • May 10, 2014 Sao Paulo, Brazil Palmeiras Arena
