Zayn Malik designs 'superhero Gromit' as One Direction reveal excitement over Mexico concert

One Direction singer Zayn Malik has teamed up with Wallace and Gromit's Grand Appeal to help raise money for the charity by designing a superhero-style Gromit.

The 'Little Things' hitmaker created a 'Green Gromit' (pictured left) for the auction and it will be on display at The Mall at Cribbs Causeway in Bristol for fans to check out. Speaking about his addition to the lot, which will go under the hammer later this summer, Malik said: "I'm absolutely delighted to be able to lend my support to Gromit Unleashed to raise funds for Wallace and Gromit's Grand Appeal."

"Being asked to design and paint a Gromit was an absolute honour and despite being busy on tour, it's given me something to look forward to on my down time in between shows. My house is going to feel a whole lot emptier and a lot less green without it!"

The band, meanwhile, have just played a concert in Mexico City and several members took to their official Twitter pages to reveal their excitement at being in the country.

Niall Horan wrote: "Mexico City was unbelievable last night! Incredible stadium, crowd! Everything! Thank you so much for having us! X" Louis Tomlinson added: "Yesterday was sooooo sick!! Our first stadium! Very exciting!!"
