One Direction hang with the Rolling Stones

It was a case of new blood mixing with veterans last night (June 24) as One Direction met up with the Rolling Stones in the US.

The 'Kiss You' boyband are only a few years into their career, but the Stones are currently touring North America to celebrate their 50 years in the business.

The rock group performed in Washington DC last night and it seems One Direction's Harry Styles and Niall Horan got in on the action too.

Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood tweeted a photo of himself with the two boyband members.

Horan meanwhile said on Twitter after the gig: "Unbelievable experience tonight...massive thanks to @sallywood @ronniewood and @therollingstones a great gig..and for being so nice tonight."

However, no photo has surfaced yet of Rolling Stones singer Mick Jagger with Styles, who is noted for his striking similarity to the veteran frontman.

It is unclear, unfortunately, whether or not the two singers met on the night.
