Harry Styles sends good luck message to tennis star Laura Robson
One Direction’s Harry Styles has sent a message to tennis player Laura Robson wishing her good luck ahead of her second round match against Mariana Duque-Marino at Wimbledon.
Robson went on to win the match 6-4 6-1.
Harry Styles tweeted 19-year-old Robson saying: “Good luck for today maaaaate!”
The heartthrob’s well wishes worried some of his fans as Robson subsequently received a number of enquiries about who Styles was talking about.
Following the ‘Kiss You’ star's tweet Robson revealed: “I looked in my replies, and it was just like thousands of these messages, saying, ‘Who is she?’”
However the teenage tennis player found the incident hilarious as she said: “I was wetting myself because it was so funny.”
Harry Styles’ message has boosted Robson’s own Twitter stats as her number of followers has significantly increased in the light of Styles’ shout out. Robson stated: “I think I've gained 20,000 followers and they have no idea who I am.”
Harry Styles previously caused confusion amongst some of his 13.8 million Twitter followers earlier this year when he tweeted “RIP Baroness Thatcher x” as some of them did not know who Margaret Thatcher was.
